Gut Health & Digestion in Brandon, FL

Your gut has beentrying to tell you.

Bloating that arrives by afternoon. Food that suddenly does not agree with you. Being told it is just IBS, or just stress.

We look at what is actually happening inside your digestive system, with testing that goes far beyond a standard workup, then build a plan to calm, clear, and rebuild your gut.

Sound Familiar?

If any of this is your normal, it should not be

Bloating by afternoon Gas after meals Constipation Loose stools Reflux and heartburn Stomach pain Food reactions Nausea Skin flares Brain fog Fatigue after eating Told it is "just IBS"

These are not things to live with, and they are not in your head. They are signals, and signals can be traced.

The Digestive Map

Where in your gut is the trouble?

Follow the path your food takes. Tap any stop to see what happens there, what can go wrong, and how we look at it.

Where It Starts

Stomach & Esophagus

What happens here

Acid and enzymes break your food down so nutrients can be absorbed further along.

What can go wrong

Reflux, heartburn, nausea, early fullness, burping, and stomach pain. H. pylori and low stomach acid are common and often missed.

How we look at it

An H. pylori stool test, plus a full history of your symptoms, medications, and eating patterns.

What We Look For

The usual suspects behind gut symptoms

SIBO

Bacteria growing in the small intestine, where they do not belong. Often the real story behind an IBS label.

Dysbiosis

An imbalance between helpful and unhelpful bacteria, yeast, or parasites in the large intestine.

Leaky Gut

A gut lining that has become too permeable, letting through what should stay out and driving inflammation.

Low Stomach Acid

Common with age and with long-term acid blockers. Food does not break down properly, and symptoms follow.

Food Reactions

Gluten, dairy, FODMAPs, and histamine. We look for real triggers rather than cutting out everything.

Stress & the Gut-Brain Axis

Your gut and nervous system are in constant conversation. Stress changes motility, acid, and the microbiome.

Medications

Antibiotics, acid blockers, and anti-inflammatories all leave a mark on the gut, sometimes years later.

Infections & Inflammation

Parasites, H. pylori, and inflammatory conditions that need to be identified rather than assumed.

How We Test

We stop guessing on day one

Standard bloodwork rarely explains gut symptoms. We use advanced testing that shows what is actually growing, how well you digest, and whether your gut lining is inflamed.

  • Advanced Gut Microbiome & Barrier AssessmentBacteria, yeast, parasites, digestion, inflammation, and zonulin for leaky gut.
  • Complete Digestive Function AssessmentA deep look at how well you break down and absorb your food.
  • SIBO Breath TestingHydrogen and methane, or all three gases, to find small intestinal overgrowth.
  • Focused TestsH. pylori, intestinal inflammation, and celiac screening when your story calls for it.

The LIV Gut Method

Calm, clear, rebuild, maintain

Gut healing has an order. Skipping ahead is why so many protocols fail, and why yours will be phased.

Phase One

Calm

Settle inflammation, support digestion, and ease the symptoms making daily life hard, so your gut is ready for the deeper work.

Phase Two

Clear

Address what testing found, whether that is overgrowth, yeast, parasites, or H. pylori, using targeted therapies chosen for your results.

Phase Three

Rebuild

Restore the gut lining and your microbial balance with nutrients, food, and the right strains, not a generic probiotic.

Phase Four

Maintain

Keep what you gained. We widen your diet, retest when useful, and build habits that hold up in real life.

Most people feel meaningfully better in the first two phases, and the whole arc usually takes three to six months.

Gut health questions, answered

I was told I have IBS. Is that different from what you do?

IBS describes your symptoms, not their cause. We start from the other end, looking for what is driving those symptoms, whether that is SIBO, dysbiosis, an infection, food triggers, low stomach acid, or stress affecting how your gut moves.

How much does gut health care cost?

Gut health is part of our functional medicine care.

First visit: $349
Second visit, your results review: $249
Follow-up visits: $185

Testing is priced separately and always reviewed with you before anything is ordered. Standard labs can often be billed to your insurance, and specialty gut testing is self-pay.

Do I need testing, or can we just start treatment?

Testing is what keeps this from becoming guesswork. Treating overgrowth when the real issue is low stomach acid, or taking a probiotic that feeds the wrong bacteria, can make things worse. We test first so your plan matches your gut.

Will I have to eliminate a long list of foods?

No. Long elimination diets are stressful and often unnecessary. We may narrow your diet for a short window while we calm things down, then widen it deliberately as your gut recovers. The goal is to eat more foods comfortably, not fewer.

How long until I feel better?

Many people notice a difference during the first phase, as digestion is supported and inflammation settles. Clearing and rebuilding take longer, and the full arc is usually three to six months. Everyone is different, and we adjust as we go.

Can I order gut testing without becoming a patient?

Yes. You can order tests on your own through our testing store and receive your results, or add a Lab Results Review with Dr. Tracy for $199 to go through them together. See our lab testing page.

What if something serious shows up?

We take it seriously and act on it. Findings that need a specialist, such as inflammatory bowel disease or anything requiring a scope, are referred promptly to gastroenterology, and we continue supporting you alongside that care.
